The option of Surrogacy can play a significant role for couples facing medical or social obstacles in achieving their dream of parenthood. In this procedure, a third person, a surrogate mother, carries a pregnancy for the intended parents. It is a complex yet promising opportunity to achieve parenthood.
Surrogacy refers to a treatment in which an embryo – created from the fertilization of the intended mother’s or a donor’s eggs with the partner’s or a donor’s sperm – is transferred into another woman’s uterus. This woman, the surrogate mother, carries the embryo and enables the couple to become parents.
Surrogacy is mainly considered when the intended mother lacks a uterus or cannot become pregnant due to medical reasons without endangering her life.
The process begins with an IVF treatment using the eggs and/or sperm of the couple. Simultaneously, the uterine lining of the surrogate mother is prepared with carefully selected medications to create the best conditions for embryo implantation. The embryo is then transferred into the surrogate mother’s uterus under precise ultrasound guidance.
Our dedicated team accompanies you at every step of your surrogacy journey. We offer:
Step 1: Careful Selection: We evaluate your needs and desires with you.
Step 2: Comprehensive Examination Your chosen surrogate mother undergoes thorough medical and psychological examinations to ensure her physical and emotional suitability for Surrogacy.
Step 3: Legal Agreement We discuss and establish legal aspects carefully. We ensure that all necessary agreements and contracts comply with legal requirements.
Step 4: Cycle Synchronization Synchronizing the cycles between the surrogate mother and the egg donor or intended mother is crucial to creating optimal conditions for embryo transfer.
Step 5: Hormone Therapy is individually tailored to prepare the surrogate mother’s uterine lining optimally for embryo implantation.
Step 6: Embryo Transfer Under meticulous monitoring, the embryo is transferred into the surrogate mother’s uterus. This step is performed precisely to ensure the best chances of a successful pregnancy.
Step 7: Pregnancy Success After the embryo transfer, we accompany you throughout the pregnancy and provide medical guidance and emotional support.
Legal Requirements for Surrogacy in Cyprus Surrogacy in Cyprus is subject to specific legal provisions introduced in May 2015. These regulations mainly apply to married couples or couples in registered partnerships residing in Cyprus. It’s important to note that currently, non-Cypriots cannot undergo surrogacy treatment in Cyprus. Changes in legislation are under preparation.
We understand that Surrogacy is a challenging decision. Still, with our experience and support, you can be confident that you’re not alone on your path to parenthood.
