Time is relentless, and with each passing year, the quality of our eggs also changes. Especially after the age of 35, ovarian reserve decreases rapidly. We understand that the desire for a family doesn’t always align with biological realities. This is precisely why taking precautions early on is so important.
Egg freezing offers the chance to slow down the passage of time and capture the state of your eggs in their best condition. This creates a bridge to the future, regardless of life’s unpredictable paths.
The best time for egg freezing is ideally before the age of 35, when your ovarian reserve is still sufficient, and the quality of your eggs is at its peak. This timing provides the best conditions to maximize your chances of a successful pregnancy.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Christos Roukoudis, we accompany you through this process. Our compassionate team understands the significance of your decision and ensures that you are equipped with comprehensive knowledge and understanding.

Egg freezing is based on the proven In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) method.
The process involves the following steps.
The duration you can store your frozen eggs is not limited. You determine the right time for your family planning. The quality of frozen eggs remains stable during storage, meaning that pregnancy rates are comparable to freshly retrieved and fertilized eggs.
Hormones stimulate your ovaries to produce more eggs than usual.
This process takes around two weeks.
The matured eggs are carefully retrieved while you are under light sedation. This procedure is painless and typically lasts around 15-20 minutes.
The collected eggs are cooled to very low temperatures and then shock-frozen in liquid nitrogen. This step, called vitrification, increases egg survival rates to 97%.
The frozen eggs are stored in our state-of-the-art laboratory until you can use them.
Egg and embryo cryopreservation are established methods of fertility preservation that may be considered in women diagnosed with cancer, particularly at a younger age, depending on the clinical situation and available time before treatment.
In cases of newly diagnosed cancer, fertility preservation may be considered prior to the initiation of oncological treatment, depending on the available time and the nature of the disease, and in coordination with the treating oncology team.
Individualized stimulation protocols, such as DuoStim, may be used in selected cases to optimise oocyte retrieval within a limited time frame, while ensuring patient safety and minimising delay to oncological treatment.
Fertility preservation is an important aspect of comprehensive reproductive counselling in oncology patients and should be discussed early in the treatment planning process.
Choosing to freeze your eggs is a deeply personal decision. Our team is here to provide clarity, care, and seamless support, offering two clearly structured pathways designed around your time, comfort, and individual needs.
